Rare Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Octagonal Commemorative Plate Utrecht University 1636 - 1936

The tin glazed earthenware octagonal plate decorated in shades of blue with the sun within the center the coat of arms of the city Utrecht, surrounded with:
SOL LUSTITIAE ILLUSTRA NOS  (Sun of Justice Illuminates Us)
of the Utrecht University Hall. In 1579 The Union of Utrecht was signed here and in 1636 Utrecht University was founded. The octagonal rim with stylized flowers and the dates 1636 - 1936
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
