The center of the tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in blue with a Dutch brown sailing vessel in stormy water on sea. In the cloud the Almighty’s Eye & 1939. In the rim two leaves with the Apples of Orange and the text:
MIJN SCHILD EN DE BETROUWEN
ZIJT GIJ, O GOD MIJN HEER.

My schield and the trust - Are You O God my Lord. (Start 2th World.War.) (Text from the sixth couplet of “Het Wilhemus”, the national hymn.)
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND  &  BI = 1939
