Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Crisis Plate with the Farmer - 1939.

The center of the tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in blue with a man mowing the field with a scythe and 1939. Surrounded with the text:
DE LANDMAN SPREEKT:  “HEM DREIGT GEWIS DE ERGSTE NOOD,
DIE HEEFT NOCH G’LOOF, NOCH DAGELIJKS BROOD”

(The farmer says: He who has never faith nor his daily bread may suffer the greatest catastrophe.) The rim decorated with stylized motifs.
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND  &  BI  = 1939

Two painters worked on this plate:

Employment dates: 1891 - 1940.
Painter’s initials: CS  = Casper Schilperoort 
Employment dates: 15 Oct. 1894 - 1950
