The tin glazed earthenware plate commemorating the 300 years anniversary of Hugo De Groot  publishing of De Jure Belli ac Pacis   (On the Law of War and Peace). The plate decorated in shades of blue with in the centre the statue of De Groot in Delft .(1886 by F.L. Stracké) The rim with stylized floral swags and the text: 

HUGO GROTIUS and under:  1625 * De Jure Belli ac Pacis * Jus Gentium * 1925

Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:

DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT

DELFT - HOLLAND &  AU = 1925

Two painters worked on this plate: 

Painter: JL = Jan Willem Lispet
Employment dates: Aug. 9th 1887 - 1938

Painter: AG  = Andreas Petrus Guerain.
Employment dates: Jun. 6th 1887 - 1938

 De jure belli ac pacis (On the Law of War and Peace) and the
