Antique German Early 16th Century Nuremberg Brass Alms Dish. The Spies of Canaan. SOLD


The original antique brass alms dish with the two spies from the land of Canaan. The  raised center with two men - The Spies of Canaan.(Caleb & Joshua = Joshua 2,1 : 22)  transporting a large cluster of grapes and walking to the right. Surrounded by an inscription band with the Gothic German text  ALZ  ICH  WART  GELUK,  a scalloped side and a broad everted rim struck  with cross flowers and leaves.
