Rectangular shape, with sliding panel on the bottom, incised with love scenes within foliate borders. Featuring, at the hinged top, a panel with a cut-out and engraved decoration of a pair of lovers with floral vines above and below them. The interior features an erotic scene - cut out and engraved - depicting a man and his lover standing on a tiled floor beneath a canopy. Beneath the sliding panel on the underside of the box is the Roman goddess Fortuna with the horn of plenty / abundance (corncopia) from which she pours out prosperity and wealth upon humanity. In the horn the date 1722.
Below is the personification of love: Cartias, holding a burning heart, with a child clinging to her leg, standing behind two large fish that spout water into a basin, above a man defecating. The entire scene is surrounded by engraved tendrils. On the inside of the hinged lid is a cut-out, engraved panel depicting various figures in an erotic scene.
