Groot De Porceleyne Fles Herdenkingbord Geboorte Prinses Irene - 1939

The tin glazed rimmed earthenware plate commemorating the birth of princess Irene, the second daughter of the Crown Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard. Decorated in shades of blue within a roundel the Tree of Orange with an orange-coloured Orange, as symbol for the Royal Family (Princess of Orange) and 5 AUGs 1939 and the coat of arms of the Netherlands and the Dutch colonies. Surrounded with the text: 

PRINSES IRENE – DE EDEL BOOM LEEFT VOORT IN KRACHT.  (The noble tree lives on in strength.)
The rim decorated with floral swags.
