Only 300 chargers were made for the 650 years memorial of the city Amsterdam.  (1275-1925). The tin glazed earthenware charger decorated in shades of blue within the center the profile of Amsterdam from the east to the west, seen over the harbour “Y” In the top left the city seal (Hanze trade) and on the right the coat of arms of  the city Amsterdam, together crowned with the Emperor’s crown in the top of the rim. On the left and on the right the Dutch text:
"Aan d´Amstel en aan 't IJ daar doet zich heerlijk Oope zij die als Keizerin de kroon draagt van Europe" and the years 1275 and 1925.
(On the river Amstel and Harbour Y, there opens it wonderfully. She who wears as an empress the crown of Europe.)
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:

DELFT - HOLLAND &  AU  =  1925
Painter’s initials: VB =  Willem Alexander Karel Hendrik Frederik van Baarsel.         
Employment dates: June 1893 - 1944/45.
