The rare tin glazed earthenware war plate marking the September 1938 Munich Peace Conference to avoid war between Nazi-Germany and the other European countries. 11 months later Germany invaded Poland. Decorated in shades of blue with a flying dove of Peace  with a twig in his beak above a standing sword surrounded with branches with the dates 28 – 29 SEPT. 1938.
In the rim with floral swags on top: DE VREDE BEWAARD. (The peace kept) and under: SOLI DEO GLORIA. (To God alone the Glory.)
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND  & BH = 1938
