De Porceleyen Fles Herdenkingsbord Fokker F.VIIb Southern Cross. Europa - Amerika Vlucht 1930

The tin glazed earthenware plate commemorating Van Dijk’s Europe –America flight. Decorated in shades of blue within the center the flying airplane VH - USU, the Southern Cross, a Fokker F.VIIb/3m trimotor aircraft  over the map with the Atlantic Ocean for the first Trans-Atlantic flight with Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, Evert van Dijk and the text:

The rim with stylized floral swags and the text:
MET HET KOENE VIERTAL IS HEEL DE WERELD RIJK
EN NEERLAND WEL HET MEEST MET ZIJN DAPPEREN.
(with the courageous quartet the whole world is rich and the Netherlands the most with their daring.)
