The small tin glazed earthenware plate commemorating the 27th International Eucharistic Congress in Amsterdam from 22nd – 27th July 1924, visited by thousands of pilgrims. The center decorated in shades of blue the host with HIS surrounded by a halo. Surrounded with vines, bunches of grapes and wheat leaves, symbols for bread and wine, the holy sacrament. Under the coat of arms of Amsterdam with the Emperor’s crown and on the rim the text:

XXVII Internationaal Eucharistisch Congres Amsterdam 22–27 Juli 1924
 Een spijs die voedt en nimmermeer verteert.
A food that nourishes and nevermore consumes.  A reference to the Eucharist.
Design by P.H. Molkenboer (1872 – 1960)
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:

DELFT - HOLLAND  &  AT  = 1924
