The tin glazed earthenware charger decorated in shades of blue with the 17th century Dutch warship DE ZEVEN PROVINCIËN of Admiral Michiel de Ruyter. Painted after the famous oil painting from Willem van de Velde de Oude.
De Raad van War on Board “De Zeven Provinciën. (120 x 180 cm. / 47,3 x 70,9 in.) Het vlaggenschip van Michiel Adriaensz. de Ruyter on June 10th 1666. The rim decorated with floral motifs.
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
