Antique German Early 18th Century Saxony Pewter-Mounted Stoneware Steins Tankard. Annaberg Dippoldiswalde Bäckerkrug. SOLD


The cylindrical body covered in black-brown ground, painted in shades of blue, red, ochre, white and gold. On the bottom and top floral borders. Loop pewter mounted handle with a pewter terraced cover and raspberry thumbpiece. The original pewter cover with later engraved owner-initials C.F.E.S. and date 1720. The cover marked on the inside with 3 marks, 2 for fine (English) pewter and the caster mark with a can with initials and date 1708.
