The earthenware plate decorated in the 17th century tradition  in sepia  with a Dutch Brown sailing vessel, a so called Poon, a 16th / 17th century name for a small freighter with a flat bottom from the South Netherlands.The rim with stylized ornaments and written n Poon. Signed on the back in underglaze sepia for:

DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL  DELFT

DELFT - HOLAND & CT = 1974

Painter’s initials MKR  = Martinus C. Krieger    

Painter & Designer.
Employment dates: 1955 - present (=in 2003.)
