The rare square maiolica cloisonné tile decorated in colours with the Dutch red – white – blue flag with in the sky De PELIKAAN, a Fokker F XVIII aircraft with registration number PH-AIP above a sailing V.O,C. trade Vessel and 1934. 
In the top NATIONAAL LUCHTVAART FONDS.
On the bottom in a stone:
HOLLAND MACHTIG  STEEDS TER ZEE, TELL” OOK IN DE LUCHTVAART MEE.

(Holland always powerfull at sea, now als competes in the air.)
The PH- AIP Pelikaan left Amsterdam on December 18th, 1933, for a fast Christmas flight to Batavia in the Dutch Indies (Djakarta) In a record time it arrived in Batavia on December 22nd. Four days later it went back to Amsterdam and arrived even faster on the evening of December 30th. 20.000 people came to the airport to honour the crew of four men.
