The rectangular Royal Delft commemorative maiolica cloisonné tile decorated in colours with a Dutch landscape with two rail roads and the signal on red. With  the Dutch text:

VERZET VOOR VADERLAND  (Resistance for the Fatherland.)

Spoorwegstaking sept.1944 Mei 1945 (Railway strike, No railway transport.) Marked on the back with the impressed factory mark:

DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT

DELFT - HOLLAND - ANNO 1945 

Design by: H.J. Tieman,

Employment dates 1938 - 1982

 

20,4 x 14,5 cm. (8 x 5,7 inches.) 

Weight: 443 grams.

N.B. The financing of this Railway Strike and the payment for the Railway strikers has been fantastic explained in the Dutch movie The Resistance Banker from 1918.
