Small Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Saying Plate By Willem Bilderdyk - 1956

The tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in shades of blue with in the center a flower and surrounded with in the rim stylized leaves and the text:
*Weldadigheid heeft grooter zoet*
*Dan al’t genot van de overvloed*
(Charity has greater sweetness, then all the pleasure of abundance.)
By Willem Bilderdijk 1756 – 1831. ( Dichtwerken deel 7 1857)

Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
