Small Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Hand Painted Saying Plate. By Willem Bilderdijk - 1941

The tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in shades of blue with in the center a flower and surrounded with in the rim stylized leaves and the text:
*Verlang niet meer dan God U geeft
Hij weet wat ieder noodig heeft*.  *Bilderdyk*
(Do not desire more than God gives you. He knows what everyone needs.)
By Willem Bilderdijk 1756 – 1831. (Dichtwerken deel 7 1857)

Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
