Rare Royal Delft Commemorative War Plate. Sir Winston Churchill Radio Speech May 13th 1940 - 1965

The tin glazed earthenware plate in memoriam of Sir Winston Churchill. With the text of his radio speech from May 13th 1940. Decorated in shades of blue with the V for Victory above oak leaves, surrounded with the text:

1874. *  SIR  WINSTON  CHURCHILL * 1965 - I have nothing to offer but blood , toil, tears and sweat. 13-5-40.

Only 389 plates produced.

Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:

DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT

DELFT - HOLLAND  & CJ = 1965.

Painter’s initials HMO = H. Molenaar
