The tin glazed rimmed earthenware plate decorated in shades of blue in the center with a shepherd bringing his flock from the cold weather inside the barn. with the date 1917 in a stone above the entrance.
In the top of the rim the text: KERSTMIS. (Christmas)

The rim decorated with holly leaves and berries
Designed by Leon Senf.
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES  -  ROYAL DELFT
 DELFT - HOLLAND  -  ANNO 1919.

Painter’s initials: VHD = Jacobus Bernardus Johannes van der Horst
Employment dates: July 1st 1883  - March 15th 1918
