Rare Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Commemorative Charger ROTTERDAM 600 Years 1928

The unique tin glazed earthenware charger decorated in shades of blue in the center with the entrance of the old harbour of Rotterdam with the St. Laurenspoort and left the Blauwe Toren seen from the river Nieuwe Maas. Surrounded with the text:

IN’T VERLEDEN LIGT HET HEDEN IN HET NU – WAT WORDEN ZAL (In the past lies the present: in the now what is going to be.)
& in de top 1928 - ROTTERDAM – 1928 (Poem by Willem Bilderdijk 1756 - 1832).
The rim decorated with rotating panels with flowering plants and in the top the coat of arms of the city Rotterdam.
Left on the rim the Late Gotique Saint Laurens Church, the symbol for the second world war.
On the right the tower at the town hall.
Under the monument Spoorweg hef brug / HEF, the famous Railroad Koningshaven bridge for Rotterdam – Breda, used until 1993.

The plate is commemorating 600 years City Rights of Rotterdam, a minor mistake found out later.
