Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Hand Painted Crisis Plate with the Grower in his Greenhouse - 1940

The center of the tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in blue with a man cutting branches in a greenhouse and 1940 surrounded with the text:
DE KWEKER SPREEKT:  “AL. MIJN WERKEN IS OM NIET ALS DE HOPE MIJ ONTVLIEDT.” (The grower says: All my labours will be in vain if I lose my hope.) The rim decorated with stylized motifs.
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND  &  BJ  = 1940
