The center of the tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in blue 
with a Dutch brown sailing vessel in stormy water on sea. Under in the surf: 1933. In the rim floral swags and the text:
EEN WIJS BELEID ALLEEN 
STUURT DOOR DE BRANDING HEEN(Only wise leadership will guide us through the surf.)
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND & BC = 1933              
Painter’s initials: VB  =   Willem Alexander Karel Hendrik Frederik van Baarsel.       
Employment dates:  June 30th, 1893 - 1944 or 1945.
