The tin glazed earthenware plate, the first commemorative plate made by Royal Delft, commemorating the birth of the Crown Princess Juliana, The later Queen (1948-1980.) The center decorated in shades of blue with the flowering Tree of Orange and the Dutch Lion holding a flag with “ORANJE UP” (Orange Above.) within the fence above JULIANA.  (N.B.  Orange = The Royal Family.) The border with floral swags and the text:
Geboren - 30 April – 1909.  (= Born)
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND  &  1909
Painter’s initials: VR =  Augustinus Eugene Virgile Roggeveen
Employment dates: 1892 - 1945.
