The center of the tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in shades of blue with two men discussing in a Dutch cloudy landscape with two windmills and in the top the text: Zou ’t Klaren ? (Will it clear up ?)  & Under the date 1917.  The rim with the patriotic Apples of Orange. (Royal family.)

Painter’s initials: HB = Hendrik Christiaan Bottelier.
Employment dates:  1880 - 1924.
