Antique Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Commemorative Plate Wijnhuis Tower Zutphen 1924

The tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in shades of blue with the Wijnhuis Tower in Zutphen. Under a banderol with: 

WIJNHUISTOREN te ZUTPHEN
On the rim between three stylized flowers:
VERNIELD DOOR FELLEN BRAND * 
HERBOUWD IN OUDEN TRANT * 27 JAN: 1920  - 5 FEBR: 1924
(Destroyed by Fierce Fire – Rebuilt in Old Style.)
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
De PORCELEYNE FLES  -  ROYAL  DELFT
DELFT – HOLLAND  ANNO  1923
Painter’s initials: VB  = Willem Alexander Karel Hendrik Frederik van Baarsel.
Employment dates:  June 30th 1893 - 1948.
