Fine Antique Dutch 17th Century Oak Draw-leaf Table

The rectangular top above a geometrically inlaid frieze with carved foliage scrolls in the corners. On ring turned baluster legs and block–and-ball feet joined by an X – shaped stretcher, party inlaid with ebony bands. Table can be extended on both short sides.

Provenance:

Castle  Eerde near Ommen in the state Overijsel in the Netherlands. Owned by the parents of Derk van Lynden (1670-1711) married in 1694 with Anna Wilhelmina Bentinck until 1948 in the collection of Barod van Pallandt. Bought in 1948 in the auction from the castle by my late father and grandfather. Delft Antiques Fair 1949 – Mathieu Hart Antiques . Private Dutch collection.
