Set of two engravings. After Carle Vernet. Titles under the engraving.

Under middle : A Paris, chez Rolland, Place des Victoires, Nos 6 et 28. 
Under left : Dessine par Carle Vernet ( Antoine-Charles-Horace Vernet ) Born in Bordeaux in 1758 . Worked as painter and lithographer in Paris and was specialiised on painting horses.

Under right : Grave par Philibert Louis Debucourt. (1755 – 1832)

Aquatint, etching. 

First state. Printed in black only. Issued in Paris circa 1817.

Debucourt made the other plate too., Fin de la cours, no 4

Together with  two  other plates made by Gros after C. Vernet  it makes up a set of four and this explains the numbers 3 & 4 in the title.

These numbers are absent in the second  edition

Both framed in mahogany and acid-free coloured passe-partout.
