Chenavard is known for a "Renaissance vase" originally commissioned by the Sèvres porcelain factory in the 1830s, which was highly successful at the time. Examples of this design exist in various materials, including porcelain and gilt bronze, and are housed in museums such as the Château de Fontainebleau and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs
