Fine Dutch Antique Engraved Copper Tobacco Box of Rectangular Form. SOLD


The rectangular copper tobacco box with hinged lid engraved on the top with a bible scene of the Old Testament, Genesis 27, were Isaac blesses his second son instead of his first son Esau and the Dutch text: 

Jacob wert geseegentJacob was blessed 

Surrounded with floral swags and a male and female head in a circle. (Isaac & Rebecca). The bottom en suite with a scene from Genesis 25 : 29-34 and the text:

Esau verkoopt  sijn erste reghtEsau sells his first right.
