The stag horn netsuke is a carving of Chokwaro Sennin with a horse harboring gourd on his right shoulder. He was known to have a horse that he could summon out of his gourd at his command and travel great distances quickly. The face is highly expressive and he holds his gourd in his right hand. Nice patina and skillfully carved. His top hat piece has been excellently fitted into the stag marrow. Unsigned. With modern wooden base.
