Antique 19th Century Tibetan Mala. SOLD


The Mala, a Buddhist prayer beads with 108 beads, an holy number in Tibet. Coconut shell complete with a small boan skull and 3 large beads from carnelian. "Mala" is a Sanskrit word meaning rosary or prayer beads. A mala is used for counting mantras.
