The tin glazed earthenware rimmed charger decorated in shades of blue in the centre with a winter landscape with a row trees on a canal and on the end a castle. Under left: naar F.J. du Chattel. After a painting by Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel. (Leiden 1856 - 1917  Yokohama – Japan.) He painted a lot near the river Vecht in the state Utrecht.

Signed on the bottom in underglaze blue for:

Two painters worked on this charger.

Painter’s initials: VP = Petrus Franciscus Vreeswijk. Employment dates: 19 Oct. 1885 - 1934.

Painter’s initials: PD = Petrus Leonardus Dijkman. Employment dates: 11 April 1882 - 1922
