The tin glazed earthenware plate commemorating the 1968 APOLLO 8 mission with the first men around the moon. The center decorated in shades of blue with the moon and the earth, several holly leaves and the names; Borman, Lovell & Anders and the Dutch text: DE EERSTE MENS OM DE MAAN  (First Man Around The Moon.) The rim with stylized leaves and the dates 21.12 - 1968 - 27.12

Signed on the back in underglaze blue for: 

DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT

DELFT - HOLLAND & CN = 1969

Painter’s initials: MKR = Martinus C. Krieger

Employment dates 1955 – present (=in 2003.)
