Antique Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Commemorative Plate. Amsterdam 650 Years 1275 - 1925. SOLD


The tin glazed earthenware plate made for the 650 years memorial of the city Amsterdam.  (1275-1925). Decorated in shades of blue with in the center the profile of Amsterdam from the east to the west, seen over the harbour “Y”.  In the top the coat of arms of Amsterdam with the emperor’s crown and the years 1275 and 1925 in a banderol. The rim with stylized leaves and under in a banderol AMSTERDAM.
The plate is designed by Piet Senf.
Only 328 plates were produced.
Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES  -  ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND  &  AU   =  1925
Two painters worked on this plate.
Painter’s initials: VA   =  Thomas van Arum
Employment dates: 31 March 1890 - 1945.

Painter’s initials: JM = J.C.W. Marijnissen
Employment dates: 1920-1958.
