The brass mounted French cylinder bureau is veneered with mahogany and mouchete (plumpudding) on an oak and pine base. The  original rectangular white marble top, with round corners, surmounted by a three-quarter pierced gallery, above three frieze drawers and a sliding roll-top, enclosing a fitted interior with an gilt-tooled brown leather-lined writing-surface and three drawers, each surmounted by an open compartment, The lower part with a basedrawer and a kneehole, flanked by two drawers on the left and a double drawer on the right, within an extra locked compartment. The sides with leather inset sliding leaves. On four turned fluted tapering legs, terminating in brass caps on modern casters.
