Rare Dutch Blue & White Zenith Delft Hand Painted Commemorative Plate 100 Years Railways 1839 - 1939.

The center of the tin glazed earthenware plate decorated in shades of blue with the first steam train De Arend on September 20th, 1839, commemorating one centennial train roads in the Netherlands.
Op 20 september 1839 reed de stoomlocomotief ‘De Arend’ in 25 minuten van Amsterdam (Sloterdijk) naar Haarlem en daarmee deed de trein in Nederland zijn intrede. 
The decoration is the same decoration as the left picture on the famous tile picture in the Central Station of Haarlem. The right picture is a modern train.
