Antique Dutch Blue & White Royal Delft Commemorative Plate 1924.

The small tin glazed earthenware plate commemorating the 350th years anniversary of the Leiden Ontzet in 1574. The center decorated in shades of blue with the coat of arms of Leiden with 15-74 above a banderol with 3 October, two herrings on the side and a basket with white bread on top. In the rim the text:
HARING & WITTEBROOD – LEIDEN UIT DEN NOOD.

Signed on the back in underglaze blue for:
DE PORCELEYNE FLES - ROYAL DELFT
DELFT - HOLLAND -  ANNO 1924
Painter’s initials: JL = Jan Willem Lispet.
