Antique French Directoire Ormolu Urn Clock. Deschamp a Paris


The French ormolu urn clock on a rectangular base. Gilt and patinated bronze. The handles are formed by two drinking fabulous animals starting from a woman's head. Appliqués on the urn depicting arrows and two swans drinking from a fountain. On the base appliqué of a basket with flowers and leaves. Movement with going and striking train. White enamelled dial with black roman numerals for the hours and minutes marking.
Signed in black with Deschamps á Paris. (Andre Deschamps, Maître 1788 – 1825.)
